How many times have you printed a label for a freshly burned disc and screwed it up? Those labels are tough to stick on. With LightScribe discs, you will never have to print a label again. Using the laser in the drive, the software will etch a design of your choosing onto the disc. All you have to do is flip the disc, run the software, and choose your image. Everytime, you will get a perfect image on your disc.
A few examples of the things you can print on the discs:
A list of track titles and lengths for a music CD.
A digital picture of the DVD or concert on the disc.
Images created in PhotoShop.
Professional looking labels for discs you give to clients. This technology is sure to change the way users burn discs. The underlying technology is simple yet ingenious. The top surface of these discs is screen-printed at the factory with thermal-sesitive coating (a leuco dye). When exposed to infrared radiation from the recorders CD laser this material heats and forms a visible mark through an irreversible chemical reaction.
By pulsing the laser on and off at the appropiate time as the disc rotates, a pattern of these marks is produced. The entire label is then built by stepping the laser across the surface of the spinning disc thus forming the image in a series of tightly packed concentric rings (tracks).
LightScribe can't peel off, get stuck, or cause disc damage the way paper labels can.
Use text, photos, and even pare-set designs for beautiful results.
No pens, no ink, no printer, and NO sticky labels.
"Please Note: You will require a LightScribe enabled CD/DVD Writer to print to the label side of these discs".
